There are 3.3 million NGOs registered in India or one NGO for every 400 Indian citizens. In 2020, GuideStar India (GSI) had more than 10,000 verified NGOs and more than 1,600 certified NGOs on its portal. Their work spans a wide spectrum from education, health, advocacy, and media, to innovation, technology and livelihoods. A wide diversity of roles are offered by the sector with the opportunity to grow beyond the tried and tested.
53% of India’s population is below 29 years. A sustainable and just future is possible only if the young actively engage with the vast development sector. The Village Square Youth Hub and Indian School of Development Management (ISDM) are bringing the Development Unplugged Series which will bring together impact-makers and trailblazers from the development sector. Changemakers Panel Discussion:
Prodigious young changemakers will share stories about their endeavours and challenges. They will discuss the joys, hardships, and opportunities. Motivations, passions and commitments of young development changemakers.
This will be followed by an open house for freewheeling discussion with the panellists.
