Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Lakhpati Didi Yojana’ is a programme aimed at empowering women-led self-help groups (SHGs) by providing them training and start their own businesses. Women from various villages in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana have been receiving training at Drone Destination, which is located at Manesar in Haryana. Here free training, accommodation, and meals are provided to women from underprivileged backgrounds.
As a part of the initiative, over 1,000 women farmers have already been trained, helping them gain additional income and social status. These women are learning to operate drones in their agricultural fields to spray pesticides, make farming more efficient, and open up new business opportunities.
Drone Destination plans to expand this initiative nationwide, aiming to train over 10,000 women in the next year. The training programme covers all aspects of drone operation, including maintenance and ensuring that the women are fully prepared to manage and operate drones.
The training improves women’s farming practices, boosts their economic status, and creates new job opportunities in their communities.
