As a nation, for 75 years, we have been striving to eliminate inequalities at all levels, which exist in the forms of poverty, unemployment, illiteracy, and gender bias. India’s rank in various development indices has barely grown over the years. If India is to improve upon these indices, the Indian Youth needs to take charge and come forward to work against these inequalities and contribute in nation building.

India is one of the youngest nations in the world with more than 62% of its population in the working age group (15–59 years), and more than 54% of its total population below 25 years of age. India has the edge of demographic dividend. They have the power to change the nation. Young minds are fresh, energetic and  innovative, channeling  which can propel  progress of the country.

As a developing nation, India needs its young, educated, urban population to contribute to nation building.

Village Square is an integrated research and communications initiative that aims to inform, analyse, and promote a deeper and more nuanced understanding of the people and issues of rural India among a wide audience, including policymakers, development professionals, students, media, and the general public.

Village Square – Youth Hub provides opportunities to the urban youth in India to  truly understand and experience rural India and its issues and opportunities.  As the organization works on principles of participation and design thinking, the inclusion of youth in designing the programs also becomes critical.

The insights and suggestions we get from the users themselves, are crucial for us. Through your feedback, we want to earnestly understand how urban youth can be best engaged in developing rural India.

If you are between the age of 15-25 and are interested in working towards bridging the rural-urban gap inIndia, please fill out the survey link attached. This study will help us curate programmes which will best suit you – the youth of India. !
