A massive crowd of locals and tourists gather at the Minjar fair bringing people from all corners of the country. The fair is celebrated in the Chamba valley of Himachal Pradesh to mark the victory of the Raja of Chamba over the head of Trigarta (now Kangra) in 935 AD. Upon his return, the king was greeted with sheaves of paddy and maize to symbolise prosperity and happiness.

Men and women coordinate their movements during a public performance at the Minjar fair. Traditional and folk performances are a common sight during the festival.

Mud wrestling at the Minjar fair is one of the most exciting and intense events, where participants battle in a pit of wet soil, showcasing their strength, skill, and endurance. This traditional sport has a rich history in the region, passed down through generations, and remains a key attraction, drawing both competitors and enthusiastic spectators.
