Swara Bhasker is more than a critically acclaimed Hindi-language actor – she is also a leading social activist. Bhasker is one of the most vocal champions of the poor and has a deep appreciation about the opportunities and challenges in rural India.

Village Square is delighted to have her on board our new Youth Hub initiative by kicking off our first Bharat Youth Dialogues.

Youth Hub wants to bridge the divide between young, urban India and the many “left behind” in rural India.

Today’s youth truly believe in the power of the individual to bring change. From the youngest Nobel Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai and eco-activist Greta Thunberg to Earthshot Prize Finalist Vinisha Umashankar, the young are engaging global leaders on issues that matter to them. They are impacting the world like never before.

Youth Hub wants to harness the power of young minds on issues about people in the margins of society, creating dynamic spaces for young minds to interact, examine and activate changes for a better India.

A key element of Youth Hub is The Bharat Youth Dialogues – a new range of lectures and discussion platforms.

Bhasker will be in conversation with Suparna Sharma, a veteran journalist based in Delhi, who has a keen eye for social issues, extensively writing on the impact of disasters, child-kidnapping rackets and more.

The event will take place on Wednesday, December 15 at the Siri Fort Auditorium II in New Delhi.

You can sign up for the event here.

These dialogues will create dynamic spaces for young people to engage with the best and brightest thought-leaders – both from India and abroad – in understanding, discussing and taking initiatives about change.

We are excited to create this platform for young people in India and to kick it off with this must-attend event.

So join us and share this with your friends on social media!
